The 23-year-old Kalispell woman charged with negligent homicide in the 2015 death of her 2-year-old son has been arrested.

Takara Kaye Juntunen was arrested at a home in Kalispell late Thursday afternoon. Sheriff Chuck Curry said the woman was taken into custody without incident.

Juntunen was charged with negligent homicide and criminal possession of dangerous drugs on May 23 and law enforcement had been looking for her ever since.

Prosecutors have accused Juntunen of being partially responsible for Forrest Groshelle’s 2015 death because she failed to seek medical attention for the boy in the days before his death, even though he showed signs of being abused.

Groshelle died on Feb. 17, 2015 and Juntunen’s boyfriend, Brandon Walter Lee Newberry, was arrested and charged with deliberate homicide immediately after. Newberry was convicted of mitigated deliberate homicide earlier this year and is currently serving a 40-year sentence at the Montana State Prison.
