Primary Election Day has come and gone, with candidates vying for their party’s nomination in various local and statewide races, while voters also weighed in on an historic presidential race.

Click here and here for background on the June 7 elections in the Flathead Valley.

On this page, readers will find updated results for contested races in Flathead and Lincoln counties, as well as figures for the governor’s race and the presidential primary. For full results of statewide and uncontested races, visit the Montana Secretary of State website here.

At the polls, voters received two ballots – one for the Democratic Party and one for the Republican Party. Each voter could only mark one political party’s ballot as they offered a nod to their party’s top choice. In races that only featured partisan opponents, then the winning candidate emerges as the presumptive winner in the November general election. If not, then the top Republican and top Democrat will face off this fall.

The polls closed at 8 p.m. in Montana on Tuesday. Follow here for up-to-date local and statewide election results, with analysis to follow. These results are unofficial and will be updated.
