Hungry Horse Man Killed in Weekend Crash

Man killed after driving into the rear of another vehicle

A Hungry Horse man was killed early on the morning of June 18 when he drove his vehicle at speed into the rear of a larger vehicle.

Denver Ray Heffington, 31, of Hungry Horse was pronounced dead at Kalispell Regional Medical Center shortly after the crash.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, the Heffington drove his vehicle into another vehicle shortly after 12 a.m. on June 18. Heffington was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident and he was only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the wreck. Authorities believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
