Great Northern Cycle & Ski of Whitefish announced Willie Hobbs as its new business owner. Hobbs grew up exploring the single-track trails of the Flathead Valley and graduated from Whitefish High School in 2010. Between high school and earning his bachelors in business management and finance at Montana State University, Hobbs pursued a downhill bike-racing career. For the last five years Hobbs has worked seasonally at Great Northern Cycle & Ski under previous owner Craig Prather’s wing.
While Prather has enjoyed his time with Great Northern Cycle & Ski, he feels confident that taking a step back will allow new energy to carry the business forward.
Great Northern Cycle & Ski will stock performance-level mountain and road bikes and continue to build its collection of all-mountain alpine skis and boots as well as serve as a Head race center for alpine ski racers of all ages. Great Northern Cycle & Ski’s service department will service all makes and models of bikes as well as edge tune, wax and repair alpine skis.
