The remodel at Whitefish Mountain Resort’s Summit House is once again underway as the resort continues to make more than $ 1 million in summertime improvements.

The resort on Big Mountain also completed its second expansion in four years of the Whitefish Bike Park, which recently opened three new trails.

There will be limited access to the Summit House during the summer construction.

“We are looking forward to adding to the summer guest experience while also making improvements for next winter, all the while maintaining our commitment to the affordable mountain resort vacation,” Whitefish Mountain Resort CEO Dan Graves said.

Phase Two of the two phase Summit House remodel includes the enlargement of the kitchen and food court area, which will include a new layout improving customer flow, expanded food stations, new tile work and additional equipment. Interior design elements that were added to the Summit House in Phase One in the mezzanine level will continue on the main floor with new light fixtures, cabinetry, and steel wainscoting.During construction this summer there will be limited access to the Summit House, and phase two is expected to be finished in time for the 2016/17 winter season.

The Summit House will be open to guests this summer, however the cafe will be closed. Beverage service along with limited food service will be available at the Summit House Bar. The Summit Nature Center, Summit Gifts and restrooms will also remain open.
