BOZEMAN — U.S. Census estimates show that Bozeman’s population growth is outpacing that of other Montana cities.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports the city added 1,760 people between 2014 and 2015. That 4.2 percent growth rate brought the population to 43,400 last year.

Towns near Bozeman, such as Manhattan and Belgrade, also grew by more than 3 percent, as did unincorporated Gallatin County.

Helena and Kalispell are the state’s next-fastest growing cities, with growth rates near 2 percent.

Montana’s two largest cities, Billings and Missoula, had growth rates of less than 2 percent for that period. Billings, with a population estimated at 110,000, added about 1,400 residents, while Missoula added 1,200 people for a population of about 71,000.
