MISSOULA — A Montana man charged with raping a woman while free on bond as he awaited sentencing for sexually assaulting a child has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Missoulian newspaper reports that Lance Ring was sentenced Tuesday for raping a 6-year-old girl last year.
He had pleaded guilty in May to sexual intercourse without consent as part of a plea deal that called for a 25-year prison sentence with 15 years suspended. A judge released him ahead of sentencing.
While he was free, Ring was arrested and charged with raping a woman. That charge was dismissed as part of a subsequent plea agreement that recommended 25 years in prison.
Ring will not be eligible for parole until he completes the first two phases of sexual offender treatment.
