Glacier Park Reopens Sun Road to Logan Pass

Road was closed this weekend due to snow

Glacier National Park reopened the west side of its iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road Wednesday morning, three days after snow and ice closed the route.

The National Park Service announced on Twitter that the section of road from Big Bend to Logan Pass was again open to traffic. The east side of the road from Jackson Glacier Overlook to Logan Pass was reopened on Tuesday.

On Sunday afternoon, officials closed the alpine section of the road after an inch-and-a-half of snow fell around Logan Pass.

The legendary alpine highway is expected to remain open through mid-October.
