Football Roundup: Flathead Holds Off Butte in Road Victory

Bigfork, Columbia Falls stay unbeaten with big wins; Glacier trips up against CMR

Flathead 14, Butte 7

Ryan Skramovsky scored the decisive touchdown as the Braves snapped a two-game losing streak.

Skramovsky rushed into the end zone from three yards out in the fourth quarter to give Flathead its third victory of the season. He also tallied 51 yards receiving and 26 yards on the ground.

Quarterback Bridger Johnson completed 12 of 16 passes for 228 yards and a TD, a 17-yard strike to Austin Demars in the first quarter. James Flannigan caught six passes for 151 yards. Seth Adolph rushed 17 times for 72 yards.

Flathead (3-4) travels to Helena Capital (3-4) on Friday night before taking on Glacier on Oct. 21.

Bigfork 48, Libby 6

The Vikings shined bright on senior night and picked up their seventh win in a row.

Matt Farrier scored four touchdowns and quarterback Augie Emslie connected on three scoring passes to lead Bigfork to 7-0 on the season. Logan Taylor caught two TD passes and Anders Epperly added a score in the fourth.

JJ Davis scored Libby’s lone TD, a 3-yard run.

Bigfork finishes the regular season on the road against conference foe Eureka (6-1) on Friday night. With a win, Bigfork would seal its eighth consecutive district title. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Columbia Falls 42, Whitefish 0

Quarterback Dakota Bridwell combined for five touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to an impressive win over the rival Bulldogs in Whitefish.

Bridwell completed 20 of 41 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns, connecting with Braxton Reiten, Sean Miller and Bryce Fagerland for scores. Bridwell also ran in a pair of TDs to lead Columbia Falls to its sixth win of the season. Reiten had five catches for 124 yards and Logan Koledejchuk rushed the ball 23 times for 115 yards and a score.

Columbia Falls (6-0) travels to Polson (5-1) for a pivotal Northwestern A matchup on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Whitefish (2-5) will travel to Frenchtown to take on the Broncs (2-5) in a Northwestern A matchup on Friday night.

Great Falls CMR 28, Glacier 23

A touchdown in the third quarter snapped the Wolfpack’s undefeated streak.

The Rustlers’ Lane Jensen connected with James Olsen on a 19-yard TD with 2:41 left in the third and Glacier could not answer, dropping to 6-1 overall.

Glacier quarterback Tadan Gilman was 18 of 38 with 292 yards and two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed in a score from 5 yards out.

Glacier’s Drew Turner rushed 24 times for 69 yards and Andrew Durado caught four passes for 121 yards. Jackson Pepe had five catches for 55 yards.

Glacier hosts Butte (2-5) on Friday.
