A new company has launched in Kalispell to give kids and adults opportunities to play sports and stay active in the winter by bringing professional-grade indoor turf to the Flathead County Fairgrounds’ Trade Center.

The company, named Montana Sports Indoors, will transform the Trade Center building into a fully functional sport setting for the winter months. Currently focusing on soccer, MSI has opened registration for their winter soccer leagues and is accepting signups for both recreational and competitive play.

“The Flathead Valley and the surrounding areas love soccer and to be active all year,” said Executive Director Nate Evans, who is also head coach of the boys soccer team at Flathead High School. “However, our area is affected by snow and winter conditions for almost six months out of the year.”

MSI intends to expand its indoor turf services to many sports, including lacrosse, flag football, rugby and other sports in the future, but the current calendar focuses on soccer.

The recreational and competitive soccer leagues will start in November.

Registration for the upcoming winter season is happening now. Age blocks include youth, high school, adult 18 and old, and adults 35 and older. The deadlines for registration begin Nov. 1. Registration options, sponsorship opportunities, and more information can be found on their Facebook page and MSI’s website www.montanasportsindoors.com.
