BILLINGS – A Billings school resource officer says his patrol car was shot at while he was driving around the city.

The Billings Gazette reports that a press release from the Billings Police Department says Officer George Zorzakis “heard a snapping sound” while driving Thursday and thought it was just ice breaking away from underneath his vehicle.

The release says Zorzakis arrived at Riverside Middle School to find a bullet hole behind the rear driver’s side passenger door. Police say a bullet fragment was later recovered from behind the back seat of the patrol vehicle.

No arrests have been made and police have not yet identified any suspects.
