MISSOULA — Twenty-five people originally from 19 different countries have become new U.S. citizens in western Montana.
The Missoulian reports that the 25 took their oaths of allegiance on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Missoula.
Among them was Giuseppe Caltabiano, originally from Milan, Italy. He now lives in Whitefish and told presiding Judge Donald Molloy that he feels thankful to be part of the United States. He says he may someday run for office.
Molloy told the new citizens not to shy away from discussing issues important to them, and to stay informed and critical of the sources they get their news from.
