Authorities ID Alaska Man Killed in Arlee Vehicle Accident

Authorities have identified the 39-year-old man who was killed last week in a vehicle accident in Arlee.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said Jiry Mayo Hammond of Anchorage, Alaska, was killed in the crash on Dumontier Road and U.S. Highway 93 in Arlee on March 30. The accident occurred just before midnight after Hammond’s vehicle went off the road, struck a fence and overturned. A 43-year-old Pablo man was injured in the crash. Both men were thrown from the vehicle and Hammond was crushed by the vehicle.

The crash is still being investigated.
