The North Valley Hospital Board of Directors announced Thursday that it has hired Chris Thomas as the new CEO of North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.

Thomas, who served as chief operating officer the last three years, replaces Tate Kreitinger as CEO. Kreitinger has assumed additional outreach oversight responsibilities at Kalispell Regional Healthcare in addition to his role as CEO of The HealthCenter, according to a press release.

The board stated in the release that Thomas provided exemplary leadership as chief operating officer of the hospital over the last three years while maintaining a focus on the unique values and culture of North Valley Hospital.

“The Board is thankful for Tate’s leadership over the past year,” Steve Stahlberg, chairman of the board, stated in the release. “By appointing Ms. Thomas to this full-time leadership role, the Board establishes a strong commitment to the staff at North Valley Hospital and the greater Whitefish community that North Valley Hospital will continue providing high quality patient-centered care.”

Whitefish’s lone hospital has not had a full-time CEO since last May, when Jason Spring stepped down as North Valley entered an affiliation with Kalispell Regional Healthcare, where he now serves as chief executive provider network integration.
