Glacier Girls Finish 2nd at State Track

Track season concludes with state meets in Butte, Laurel

The Glacier girls track team brought home a runner-up trophy from the Class AA state track meet in Butte.

Glacier tallied 71.5 points. Missoula Sentinel won with 91.

Annie Hill won the 800 (2:09), 1,600 (4:54.61) and the 3,200 (10:46.10). She also ran on the third-place long relay team with Aubry Grame, Ahna Kreitinger and Bailey Smith.

Glacier’s Nikki Krueger won the state title in the shot put (42-1.5). She placed third in the discus. Kreitinger placed sixth in the 300 hurdles. Brynn McChesney was third in the long jump.

Flathead’s Madde Boles placed fourth in the high jump.

The Flathead girls long relay team — Mare Lorch, Kelsey Gillespie, Nicole Bouma and Payge Boyce — took sixth.

On the boys side, Glacier’s Ethan Larson took third in the 100 and fourth in the 200. The Glacier long relay team — Scout Willcut, Elihaj Boyd, Tyler Combs and Drew Turner — placed fourth. The Glacier boys short relay team placed second.

Hunter Nicholson won the triple jump (45-9.25).

Flathead’s Ben Perrin placed third in the 3,200. Teammate Jaden Anderson was sixth in the 800 and fourth in the 1,600. Micah Bucy was third in the high jump and Andy Thomas was sixth. Trae Vasquez placed second in the long jump.

Glacier’s Tadan Gilman placed third in the javelin. Teammate Bennett McChesney was fourth in the javelin. Evan Todd was sixth in the javelin.

Helena freshman Trey Tintinger set a new all-class state record in the high jump, clearing 7-1.5. Helena’s Zander Mozer won the 400 in record time,47.52. Billings Senior’s Dawson LaRanche won the 800 in record time, 1:50.22.

The Flathead long relay team — Micah Bucy, Jaden Anderson, Trae Vasquez and Dawson Rinehart — placed third. Rinehart placed fourth in the 300 hurdles. Teammate Chad Hemsley was sixth in the high hurdles.

At the Class A state track meet in Laurel, Columbia Falls’ Sage Wanner won the 3,200 title (9:50.31). He also placed fifth in the 1,600. Dakota Bridwell won the javelin title (183-8). Teammate Logan Kolodejchuk placed third in the javelin and fourth in the shot put. Tanner Gove was fifth in the javelin. Ben Windauer was second in the pole vault, Austin Green was fourth and Seth Gossett was fifth. Braxton Reiten was fifth in the 100. Michael Hoerner was third in the 110 hurdles and fifth in the triple jump.

On the girls side, Columbia Falls’ Angellica Street placed third in the javelin and Kiara Burlage was fifth. Kaitlyn Casazza placed third in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the 300 hurdles. Kimberly Peacock placed third in the 3,200. The Wildkats long relay team — Casazza, Burlage, Genevieve Delorme and Josie Windauer — placed fourth.

Whitefish’s Lauren Schulz placed second in the 200 and fourth in the 100 and 400.

The Whitefish boys long relay team — Spencer Moore, Lee Walburn, Zach Kasselder and Tyler Cote — placed fifth. Alex Barker was sixth in the high jump. Walburn was sixth in the long jump
