A Kalispell man has been given a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of felony sexual abuse of children.

Christian Boots appeared in Flathead County District Court on June 8 a year after being accused of possessing child porn. During the hearing, he was given a suspended 20-year sentence to the Montana State Prison and will be designated a Level I sexual offender. He will also have to complete sex offender treatment.

According to court records, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Boots in January 2015 after learning that someone was downloading child pornography at a home on Twin Acres Drive. Nine months later, law enforcement searched Boots home and found a laptop and hard drives with more than 800 pornographic videos and 200 images, some featuring children in sexual acts as young as 3 years old.
