One person was killed and another sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after a head-on collision in downtown Kalispell.
According to the Kalispell Police Department, a passenger car and a large pickup truck pulling a trailer crashed head on at the intersection of Main Street and Fifth Street shortly after 9 a.m.
Witnesses said the southbound passenger car crossed the centerline before crashing into the truck. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was brought to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were treated for minor injures at the scene but did not need further medial attention.
The Kalispell Police Department and the Montana Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
