HARDIN — A 24-year-old Montana man has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for the beating death of his 2-year-old daughter last April.
District Judge Blair Jones said Dana Redding Jr. of Hardin would have to serve 50 years before being eligible for parole. Redding earlier pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide in the death of Isabella Redding.
Defense attorney Gregory Paskell said Tuesday that Redding had spent time in various foster homes and was physically abused by several adults. A psychologist testified Redding was “borderline” intellectually disabled.
Redding told the judge he’d failed his family and his loved ones.
The Billings Gazette reports a plea agreement recommended a 60-year sentence with 10 suspended. Jones said he was sorry for the abuse Redding had suffered, but the level of cruelty and brutality suffered by his daughter was unimaginable.
