BOZEMAN, Mont. — A company spokesman says although guitar manufacturer Gibson Brands Inc. has filed for bankruptcy, the Bozeman Gibson Acoustic plant will not be impacted.

Gibson Brands Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection on Tuesday after wrestling for years with debt.

Gibson is looking to ditch home electronics and focus on its specialty, musical instruments.

Company spokesman Seth Lubove tells the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that despite the move, it should not impact employees, management and production on the ground.

The company employs more than 875 people between its Nashville, Memphis, Tennessee and Bozeman facilities.
