MISSOULA — Authorities say two boys were shot and wounded outside a Montana high school.

The shooting happened behind Sentinel High School in Missoula on Sunday evening as the school’s basketball team was practicing inside.

Assistant police chief Scott Hoffman told KGVO-AM that one of the victims said the male suspect ran away after the shooting. The motive isn’t known but Hoffman said there’s no reason to believe the shooting was random since all three met in the secluded area.

The boys were hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
