Rosendale Rakes in $700K in Weeks Following Primary Win

Republican U.S. Senate candidate will challenge incumbent Democrat Jon Tester in November

HELENA — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Matt Rosendale says he raised $700,000 over the three weeks following his Republican primary victory on June 5.

That’s a big boost in the state auditor’s campaign to unseat U.S. Sen. Jon Tester. But Rosendale has a long way to go after an expensive four-way primary to catch up to the incumbent Democrat’s fundraising.

Rosendale said Wednesday he raised more than $1 million total between April 1 and June 30. He released the overall numbers but not the report itself ahead of Sunday’s Federal Election Commission deadline.

Tester’s campaign has not yet released his latest fundraising numbers. In mid-May, Tester had more than $6 million in the bank.

Both candidates also have been aided by outside groups spending millions of dollars to support their campaigns.
