MISSOULA — Missoula County officials are investigating after a body was found in the Clark Fork River in Missoula.

The sheriff’s department says people floating the river spotted the body at about 11 a.m. Thursday just west of the Reserve Street Bridge. The body was recovered about three hours later.

Detectives and the medical examiner’s office are trying to identify the person. The sheriff’s office says the body was badly decomposed due to the length of time it was in the water.
