Michael Taylor, a 77-year-old former state senator who makes his home in Rollins, won the Master Division at the 2018 FITSAC Sporting Championships outside Laon, France in early July.

Taylor won in a shoot-off against a German rival after four days of shooting. Competitors take aim at 50 targets, called parcours, per round, and the competition is considered the most challenging in world since targets are of various shapes and sizes and launched erratically from as far as 75 yards away.

Taylor previously won a FITSAC title in 2010, claiming first place in the super-veteran division in Laterina, Italy.
