Louie and Emily Bertino recently bought the Old Bridge Pub and Sub from founding owners, Tracy and Don Darue.
The Pub and Sub opened in Bigfork in 2016 and is a family friendly restaurant and bar featuring craft beers, wine and cocktails. The menu includes the obvious subs, along with burgers and some unique appetizers.
The Bertinos met the Darues years ago through a pastry chef class at Flathead Valley Community College. When personal challenges arose for the Darues, the Bertinos were the first people they thought of to buy their restaurant.
“We’re just thrilled that Louie and Emily are able to buy the business from us,” Tracy said. “Don and I couldn’t imagine it going to two better folks.”
Over the first few months of summer, the Darues have mentored the Bertinos through what could have been a difficult transition.
The Bertinos plan to make the restaurant their own by expanding the menu and operating hours by being open more days of the week, and by adding rooftop seating.
