Boulders the size of an all-terrain vehicle and the cab of a semi-truck broke off from the Rimrocks

BILLINGS — Billings residents say a rock slide sent massive boulders crashing down onto a home in their neighborhood.

The Billings Gazette reports boulders about the size of an all-terrain vehicle and the cab of a semi-truck broke off from the Rimrocks, geological rimrock sandstone formations surrounding parts of Billings, on Wednesday night.

Neighbors say one of the pieces of sandstone came to rest inside a home in what appeared to be the living room area.

They say the family inside was not injured in the incident.

Billing Police Department Lt. Brian Krivitz says no gas lines were damaged in the rock slide.

It’s the second house in Billings to be damaged during a rock slide this summer.
