Freshmen Elijah Boyd and Joseph Vanden Bos, both Glacier High School alums, helped their distance medley relay team to a seventh-place finish at the NAIA Men’s Indoor Track and Field National Championships on March 2 in Brookings, South Dakota.

Boyd, Vanden Bos, Brenden Learning and Isaac Petsch finished seventh with a time of 10:19.05. The top eight teams earned All-America recognition. The distance medley relay consists of 400-, 800-, 1,200-meter and one-mile segments. Boyd ran the 1,200 and Vanden Bos the 800.

Boyd finished third in the 800-meters at last year’s Class AA state meet, and both he and Vanden Bos were part of the Glacier team that won the school’s first track and field state championship in 2018.
