Body of Missing Butte Man Found in River Near Toston

Officials began searching for 73-year-old Ronald Lowney after finding vehicle at fishing access site on April 14

TOWNSEND — The body of a Butte man who was last seen on April 10 was found Sunday in the Missouri River near Toston Dam.

Officials with Broadwater and Gallatin counties began searching the water for 73-year-old Ronald Lowney after his vehicle was found at a fishing access site on the Jefferson River just west of Three Forks on April 14.

An autopsy determined he drowned.
