MISSOULA — A 21-year-old man who has two previous DUI convictions is charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence for a fatal rollover crash near Seeley Lake.

Micah Ryan Nicholas made an initial appearance in Missoula County Justice Court on Tuesday. Justice of the Peace Landee Holloway agreed to his attorney’s request to allow him to stay with his parents in Seeley Lake until trial. He is free after posting a $7,200 bond.

Nicholas was initially booked into jail early Monday on a third offense, aggravated DUI for the Sunday evening crash that killed his friend, 48-year-old Michael Haley.

Court records say Nicholas’ blood-alcohol level was 0.221%, nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08%.
