MISSOULA — A woman killed by her brother in the mass shooting in Ohio worked in Montana this summer at the Smokejumper Visitor Center in Missoula.

Police say Megan Betts and eight others were killed early Sunday in the shooting at a Dayton entertainment district.

Visitor center manager Daniel Cottrell, tells The Washington Post that Megan worked there as a tour guide. He says she was an intern through a program run by the Student Conservation Association.

Cottrell described her as a “very positive person,” who was competent and well-liked by her peers. He says she also loved exploring new places, including the “local culture.”

He says Megan never discussed her brother, Connor Betts, but seemed close with her mother, who picked up her at the end of her internship.
