The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide near Polson.
At 2:30 p.m. on March 16, Lake County deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity at a home outside of Polson. Upon entering the home, the deputies found the bodies of an adult male and two young children.
The identity of the deceased include Matthew Alan Pruchnik, 49, Liam Bradly Pruchnik, 7, and Levi Kazio Pruchnik, 5.
The incident remains under investigation, but law enforcement report that it appears Matthew Pruchnik intentionally killed the children and himself by carbon monoxide poisoning in their home on Lakeview Drive, possibly on Friday, March 13.
Authorities suspect that the motive is related to an impending divorce and custody dispute with the mother of the children. Deputies had arrested Matthew Pruchnik on charges related to domestic violence in August of 2017.
