Search for Missing Man in North Fork Area Underway

Glacier National Park officials began searching July 25 for Barry J. Tragen, 68, of Columbia Falls, after he did not return to vehicle parked at Kintla Lake

Search efforts are underway in Glacier National Park for Barry J. Tragen, a 68-year-old Columbia Falls resident who reportedly did not return from a hike in the Kintla Lake area.

Tragen’s vehicle was seen parked at Kintla Lake on Wednesday, July 22, according to a press release from Glacier Park officials. A search effort was initiated by park rangers on July 25 after Tragen did not return. The search effort continues this week in conjunction with Flathead County Search and Rescue and Flathead County K9 teams.

Tragen is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and approximately 220 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes.
