Authorities Searching for Missing Berry Picker Near Ronan

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing man, Allen Ray, who disappeared while picking berries with friends near Schwartz Lake on Saturday, Aug. 1.

Ray, 73, was reportedly separated from his group while picking near the lake in the Mission Mountains, about five miles southeast of Ronan. In a press release, Sheriff Don Bell wrote that reported sightings of Ray have thus far been unsubstantiated and the search is ongoing. The sheriff’s office, rangers from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe and Two Bear Air Rescue have all assisted in the search.
