Magpie Rock Fire Stable at 3,539 Acres; 62% Contained

The wildfire hasn't seen growth since Aug. 1

The lightning-caused Magpie Rock Fire near Dixon remains at 3,539 acres and is 62% contained as of Aug. 5, unchanged since Sunday, according to Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes Division of Fire.

With 330 personnel assigned to the wildfire, crews will continue to mop-up and patrol along active fire lines.

The fire was reported on Monday, July 27 and is burning in steep, rocky terrain with dense brush and timber.

Revais 6000 Road between Revais and Magpie and Magpie 5000 Road are both closed.

There are no planned evacuations and no structures threatened near either wildfire.

Officials remind the public to stay out of wildfire areas and adhere to all road closures.
