Arrest Warrant Issued for Former Bank Teller

By Beacon Staff

Flathead County officials have issued an arrest warrant for a former Columbia Falls bank teller charged with embezzling $11,000 from customer accounts between 2008 and 2009.

The Daily Inter Lake reports Penny Sue Rhine is charged with theft by embezzlement.

Columbia Falls police began investigating Rhine in February 2010 after the senior vice president of operations at the Whitefish Credit Union reported that several customers had complained about unauthorized withdrawals from their accounts.

Court records say each teller has an access code to process transactions and the withdrawals were traced back to Rhine.
