At least seven boxing matches, including three professional bouts and one featuring a local standout, are slated for Friday night at the Flathead County Fairgrounds.
Burton Boxing, the local gym owned and operated by former professional boxer Shelley Burton, has organized four sanctioned professional matches and at least three semi-professional bouts for Nov. 9. Doors open to the event at 6 p.m. and fights are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
The valley’s own, Jesse Uhde, is also scheduled to fight Dave Courchaine in a four-round professional bout. Adam Axelson from Missoula is making his pro debut against Joe Brokenrope from Billings.
In the eight-round pro fights, Chauncy Welliver is scheduled to fight Bridger Bercier as the main event. Welliver is a world-ranked heavyweight with a 53-7-5 record. Bercier is from Great Falls. Olanrewaju Durodola is scheduled to square off against Louis Monaco. Durodola, who has a 10-1 record, is a Nigerian fighter who qualified for the 2008 Olympic team as a heavyweight. Monaco, with a 16-37-5 record, is a former CAM National Champion.
Tickets cost $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door. Kids 10 and under are $5. Special VIP seating costs $20 pre-sale and $25 at the door. Ringside costs $50 pre-sale and $55 at the door. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at Burton Boxing, 905 Center St. in Kalispell, or at Fatt Boys Bar and Grille, 1307 U.S. Highway 2.
