The snow has melted and the concrete is dry at Woodland Skate Park. It’s a perfect time to shake off the dust on those skateboards, incline skates and BMX bikes.
With much of downtown Kalispell off limits to skateboarding, the park provides a safe haven for board enthusiasts searching for that adrenaline rush.
The park features a large bowl with various hips and a smaller bowl. The deepest section is 9 feet.
The park has a tendency to get quite crowded, but the atmosphere is welcoming to anyone willing to skate from beginners to experts. The mini ramp on the north end of the park provides an easier place for those learning to practice.
There are a few street features, including rails, but not quite enough to fully satisfy many of the habitual park attendants.
Hours of operation are from sunrise to sunset, with designated hours for open skate and BMX. Helmets and bike peg covers are required. Bikes, skateboards and incline skates are allowed.
How to get there: From downtown Kalispell, go east on Second Street East. Continue on Second Street East through the intersection with Woodland Avenue. Turn north on Woodland Park Drive and the skate park is on the left.
