Rodeo Circuit Finals Remain in Great Falls For Now

By Beacon Staff

GREAT FALLS – Officials with the Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit have agreed with Cascade County leaders to keep the circuit finals in Great Falls next year.

MPRC president Jim Croff said Tuesday his group will stage the event at ExpoPark’s Four Seasons Arena from Jan. 15-17. He says the agreement is for one year, but more talks are planned as both sides try to negotiate a multiyear deal.

For the past 30 years, the arena has been the venue for the pro circuit finals, one of 12 circuits nationwide. But MPRC decided not to negotiate a new contract with the private company that ran ExpoPark facilities for Cascade County. That threatened to end the run of the event.

In January, the county announced it was taking over management of ExpoPark, and talks about the finals began with MPRC.
