HELENA – Service Commissioner Ken Toole says he is seeking re-election.
The Helena Democrat will have likely Republican opposition from Helena attorney Bill Gallagher, who has also filed, or from former Secretary of State Brad Johnson who says he intends to file.
Toole represents District 5, which includes Helena, Kalispell, Polson and the Rocky Mountain Front.
Democrats hold a 4-1 majority on the current commission, but two Democrat-held seats are up for election this year.
Toole touts his opposition to utility deregulation, and opposition to the failed sale of NorthWestern Energy to an Australian investment bank that since gone out of business.
He promises to push NorthWestern Energy to acquire diverse, affordable sources of power.
