The Kalispell Lakers 14U team won the 2017 Babe Ruth 14U State Baseball Tournament by beating Glacier 14-6. Kalispell stayed undefeated through the entire tournament scoring a combined total of 52 Runs For and allowing only 15 Runs Against over the four games they played. A key component to this teams success was playing together as a team and living in the present winning one pitch and one inning at a time. The team earned an invite to the Pacific Northwest 14u Babe Ruth Regional Tournament in Calgary, Alberta, CA. but was unable to attend at this time. The team is looking forward to going after another State Championship next year with the bigger goal of competing in the Regional tournament in 2018. The team wants to say a special thanks to it's sponsors DCI (formerly BCE), Hinchey and Hinchey Law, Kidz Kutz, our parents/fans, and especially to Kalispell Babe Ruth Baseball for helping to make this possible. Team members are (bottom row, from left) Elijah Owens, Gabe LaCroix, Owen Shilling, Joe Schlegel, Cole Johnson, Keifer Spohnhauer, (Back row, from left) Coach Steve Owens, Coach Chris Schlegel, Ayden Driear, Wyatt Freund, Josh Venman, Mason Naomi, Charlie Hinchey, Devon Wallack, and Head Coach Adam Shilling.
