Local track athletes recorded quick times at Legends Stadium during the 40th annual Archie Roe Invitational. Glacier freshman Annie Hill set a new record in the girls 1,600-meter race. Hill won in 4:49.65, breaking former Flathead standout Zoe Nelson’s 2004 meet record of 5:07.3. Hailey Phillips of Plains set a new meet record in the girls 300 hurdles. Phillips won in 44.43, breaking her own record from a year ago, 44.61. Phillips was named the girls MVP of the meet while Troy’s Sean Opland earned the boys MVP. Opland won both the 100 and 400 and placed second in the triple jump. One of the longest running track meets in the state, Archie Roe attracted 13 schools and roughly 1,000 athletes.
