Crews have cleared snow along Going-to-the Road to nearly Haystack Creek Falls as of April 24, 2023. Excavators and bulldozers continue to send tons of wet slushy snow thundering over cliffs into the gullies beyond the road's stoney wall. While work persists at a steady clip, crews will continue to face their perennial assortment of challenges, all of which can impede progress in opening Glacier National Park's famed motorway: avalanches, heavy fog, rockslides, equipment repairs, and the ever-present possibility of more snowfall.
