One man has been transferred to a Seattle hospital

Two men suffered burns in a propane explosion in Seeley Lake.

Seeley Lake Fire Chief Bob Vanden Heuvel says a propane line was cut in the area of a construction project at about 8:20 a.m. Friday. The cause of the explosion is still being investigated, but Vanden Heuvel says it appears to have happened during an effort to repair the line.

One of the burn victims was airlifted to a hospital in Missoula and Vanden Heuvel said the man was going to be transferred to a Seattle hospital for treatment. A second man was taken by ambulance to Missoula. Their names haven’t been released.

The propane was shut off to about 120 residences. Vanden Heuvel says Energy Partners crews were working Friday to repair the line.
