The Lake County coroner released the results of an autopsy performed on a fatal shooting victim from Charlo, and the results showed the woman died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Raelynn Charlo, 29, died after the Nov. 18 shooting, and Adrian McElderry, 32, has been charged with deliberate homicide for her death.

Law enforcement in Lake County reported receiving an emergency call on Nov. 18 at about 5 a.m., claiming a woman had shot herself and committed suicide.

When police officers arrived on scene, however, the evidence did not match what McElderry had told them, law enforcement officials said. McElderry, who told police he was Charlo’s husband, was taken into custody on an unrelated charge.

He was charged with deliberate homicide last week, and has been arraigned. He is being held at the Lake County Detention Center without bond.

The case has been turned over to the Lake County Attorney’s Office.
