In celebration of Flathead Manufacturing Day, Flathead Valley Community College will host an open house of its new Center for Manufacturing Advancement and Haas Demo Day, featuring the latest in high-performance, high-production Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines from Haas Automation, Inc., the largest machine tool builder in the western world, and other leading vendors.

Ideal for manufacturing employers, employees, students, educators and anyone interested in pursuing a career in or learning more about manufacturing, the event will feature educational mini-seminars, live cutting tool demonstrations, door prizes and free giveaways, including limited edition Stewart-Haas Racing baseball hats. Representatives from area manufacturers and FVCC advanced manufacturing faculty will be available throughout the event to answer questions.

The event will take place Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Occupational Trades building on the college’s Kalispell campus. A complimentary barbeque lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Center for Manufacturing Advancement at Flathead Valley Community College (CMA) was founded to help strengthen and support the growth of manufacturers in Northwest Montana by addressing the needs of industry leaders and identifying training and educational needs to bolster workforce preparation and promote manufacturing careers. The CMA serves as headquarters for local manufactures to explore the benefits of collaboration and access information and resources. The CMA also serves as a resource for students of all ages to expand exploration and awareness of the unlimited opportunities in manufacturing.
