Dead Deer

7:26 a.m. A Bigfork resident reported that a deer unsuccessfully tried jumping a fence and now it’s stuck “flopping around” on top.

8:10 a.m. Two separate callers reported that two dogs were eating a dead deer in the middle of the road in the Kalispell area. Highway department workers were informed and the deer was taken away.

10:27 p.m. Someone near Columbia Falls trapped a cat and wanted an animal control officer to take the feline into custody.

1:09 p.m. Another Flathead County resident caught a loose cat and advised law enforcement that they wanted to keep it, but they did not have money to care for it. Dispatch told them it would best if they simply took the cat to the shelter.

1:29 p.m. A Columbia Falls man reported that he’s receiving mysterious internet messages from someone telling him his marriage is going to fail.

3:30 p.m. A pair of skis were stolen on Big Mountain.

4:18 p.m. A Perkins employee called police to report that a man from Pennsylvania keeps calling the restaurant asking about a former employee. A deputy called the resident and told him to stop bugging the Perkins employees.

5:23 p.m. A Columbia Falls resident called police to say that there was a deer with a broken leg in the neighbor’s yard. The man was wondering if it was OK if he put the deer down.

6:42 p.m. An Arizona man called police to inform them that he had not heard from a woman he met via Match.com for more than an hour. He said the woman had gone to take a bath and that he was worried she had fallen. The reporting party called back to say the woman called soon after.
