Sheriff IDs Three People Killed in U.S. Highway 2 Crash

Three vehicles collided with each other on Saturday just west of Kalispell

Three Kalispell residents were killed in a three-vehicle crash on Saturday on U.S. Highway 2.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry identified the victims as Edward Shawn Stefanatz, 43, Tesa Marie Rein, 44, and Zachary Rein, 16. All three victims were in the same vehicle and were not wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck.

According to Montana Highway Patrol, an eastbound Toyota Tundra ran into a Ford Tempo carrying a driver and three passengers, pushing the Ford into the oncoming lane. There, a Jeep Wrangler with a driver and one passenger T-boned the Ford.

Three other people, including a 7-year-old boy, were taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center to treat non-life-threatening injuries.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
