Needle in a Snowbank

7:33 a.m. BNSF Railway employees reported seeing a group of “crippled” deer by the tracks. They weren’t sure if the deer had been hit by a train or had been stricken by some other medical issue. Nonetheless, they wanted someone to help out their woodland friends.

9:23 a.m. A needle was found in a dirty snow bank in Evergreen.

9:39 a.m. A man who was “not dressed for the weather” was sitting in a ditch in Happy Valley.

9:53 a.m. A Columbia Falls man reported that there was a massive hole in the middle of U.S. Highway 2. The hole was so big that when he hit it, he blew out his tires.

11:05 a.m. Someone was bitten in Martin City.

11:20 a.m. A Martin City business owner called to report that someone was sleeping on the front counter. They wanted police to escort them off the premises.

11:43 a.m. A Kalispell man called to report that his neighbors were doing a lousy job of plowing their part of the neighborhood.

12:39 p.m. A Kalispell man was accused of trapping his neighbor’s cat.

12:51 p.m. A Kalispell man called the cops when his girlfriend refused to give his phone back to him. It’s unclear what phone he was using to report this alleged crime.

2:25 p.m. Beagles were on the loose in Kalispell.

3:58 p.m. Two cussing kids were reported at a home they shouldn’t have been in.

4:32 p.m. A Kalispell woman called police because she had trouble getting a refund from a local gym.

4:59 p.m. A Kalispell woman called police and said that someone had broken into her home, turned on a faucet and flooded her basement.

5:58 p.m. A Columbia Falls woman called to report her concerns that her neighbor was going to plow snow into her yard — just like he did last year.

6:32 p.m. The Columbia Falls woman called police back to report that her fears had been confirmed and her neighbor was plowing his snow into her yard.

7:26 a.m. A Kalispell man called to report that there was a woman standing along the road trying to wave down cars. The man said it looked like her car was broken down and she was crying, but he wasn’t about to stop and help out.
