Bob Bolam, a successful prep coach with more than 200 victories under his belt in Washington, has been named the new head girls basketball coach at Whitefish High School, pending approval from the school board.

Bolam takes over for Ben Johnson, who resigned last month after three seasons with the school. Since 2016, Bolam has been the freshman/sophomore girls coach at Whitefish.

From 2002-14, Bolam was the head girls basketball coach at Mt. Ranier High School in Des Moines, Washington, leading the Rams to a 221-89 record. His teams reached the postseason all 12 of his seasons in charge, including top-three finishes in the state every year from 2012-14.
