BILLINGS — Police in Billings are investigating after a man walking along the Yellowstone River spotted a body in the water near Two Moon Park.

Sgt. Ryan Taylor says officers were not immediately able to identify the body or provide the age or gender of the person. There was no indication how the person died. An autopsy is planned Monday.

Taylor says the body was found in a side-channel of the river at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday. There was no identification with the body and Taylor said he hadn’t heard if there were any missing person reports that might be related.
