Creativity abounds at Stumptown Art Studio in downtown Whitefish, making it a perfect place to get out of the smoke, get out of the heat or just get out of the house.
Besides offering a multitude of classes – from glass fusion to collage and outdoor painting – the nonprofit organization offers a unique activity for walk-ins.
Create your own one-of-a-kind piece of pottery by choosing from a number of already prepared bisque ware, under glazes and paints. The only limitation is personal imagination.
“It’s always good to do something creative,” said Souheir Rawling a co-director and art teacher at Stumptown. “It is something everyone can do. And it’s a great date night.”
Because the procedure is so simple and user friendly, the artistic process can be shared by all ages and abilities.
“It’s kind of like coffee, only you’re painting,” said Gina Sgrenci, who spent the afternoon painting pottery with her friends and 8-year-old niece.
How to Get There: The Stumptown Art Studio is located at 145 Central Avenue, downtown Whitefish. If going north on U.S. Highway 93 through downtown, turn right onto Central Avenue.
